Back from Salute

Phew. Out at 4:30 and back at 20:30. 250 mile round trip! Had a wonderful day though. Our Dux Bellorum games went down well and we also won the award for best figure painting. Hooray!

Now....very....tired

Watch Tower refurb

Settling into my new job. Salute just around the corner! I'm still plugging away at some Late Romans but everything for Salute is pretty much done. I spent a little time yesterday repairing and repainting my Grand Manner watchtower. Over the years this had got to look a little tired and had suffered some bits of damage. With a bit of effort I think it is looking ready for action again!

Will try to post again before Saturday

Wagons Roll

Quick snaps of some Roman supply wagons. Not museum quality brushwork and there was a nasty case of Army Painter varnish causing the quick shade to crackle in places. That aside they'll do fine if no one looks too closely. Some of the figures are conversions. The two drivers have head swaps - one foundry, one West Wind. The two chaps leading the oxen were originally Saxon slingers.
In the background you can see the next WIP infantry unit.
