How I paint soldiers (2)

To follow on from the block painting and washes...

Below I have highlighted the uniform using the same colours as the block painting. The exception are the small clothes which were blocked in with Vallejo dark yellow but highlighted with a 50/50 mix of dark yellow/German cammo beige as my approximation of "straw".

As the mitres are such a defining part of these models the brass gets two highlights. First is army painter greedy gold:

Then a folk art pale gold (or mix in silver to the previous paint):

Lastly for today I highlighted the rest of the figure: belts, musket, etc

Just leaving the flesh to finish off...
