My Wargaming Week, 31st July 2016

Hi all

The carpets are all fitted and life is returning to normal.

Work continues to turn the study into a yet nicer space. This weekend I have added the following to the wall above my desk:

The frame was originally a shocking shade of pink, but I resprayed it grey then oversprayed with white. The pictures are all connected to the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, although the British Legion in the upper right panel are ( I think) engaging Davie's militia dragoons at Charlotte in the follow up after Camden - but the picture was too good to pass up.

I might do some more of these, perhaps an Arthurian themed on and an 1809 napoleonic one?

More importantly, painting of miniatures has occurred:

I have finished the block-painting of these chaps, who will form the battalion of DeLancey's loyalists at Eutaw Springs.

That's about it for now. I will tinker away during the week but I have a busy week at work coming up so we will have to see how it goes.

On order this week: a box of Perry napoleonic British infantry to try the arm-swap thing that Alan P has been doing with the AWI plastics, also some figures to start Lauzun's Legion.

I will be putting on a game at The Other Partizan on 21st August in Newark. I'd like to do something from one of my "other" periods, however time is likely to be short so it might be an AWI game instead...

Cheers

  1. Nice looking pictures for your walls, I think I recognise two Richard Scollins pages from a very old Militery Modeling magazine back in the day, great work and very evocative. Got me into the period in the first place.

    All the best

  4. Hi Mark
The images are just printed from the internet. The frames are only for 5"x 7" images, so I manged to find pictures of an appropriate resolution with a bit of hunting around.
