Another unit for the basing session

I'll do some basing tomorrow, so to join the artillery and cataphracts here is a unit of late roman infantry with a slightly barbarian flavour. I'm quite pleased with how these have turned out so might do a second unit to match, or possibly some archers or skirmishing light infantry.

Those converted leader figures painted up nicely!

  1. Very nice core units, they do deserve there own skirmishers and archers.

    1. Depending on the rules, archers can be added as a back rank to provide supporting fire, or deployed as skirmishers. There's no need for units of skirmishers to match, it just might look nice! It's more likely that I'll just do a second heavy infantry unit though.

  3. Gripping Beast. I think he is a Sassanid archer.

    1. Pack SA06 in the Sassanid range to be precise. Back in 1999/2000 I bought one of every archer figure that GB made at the time and painted them all as welsh! Innocent times...
