Bunker Hill at The Other Partizan 2025

This is just to catch up with my most recent demonstration game, at The Other Partizan last October (2025) as I missed it in my prolonged blogging slump.

This was an update and extension to the Bunker Hill demo from 2017. Having done away with my terrain times in the meantime, I was now using terrain cloths which allowed for better representation of undulating ground but presented a challenge in recreating the palisades on the right flank. Over on that side I used some coastal terrain pieces that I had made for my 2024 demo game of the fictional Battle of Old Point Comfort, while the larger area of water adjoining Charlestown was supplied by wargaming chum Matt, who also provided the rather nice ships (a mix of his own resin prints and some commercial models.

Here was the set-up from the day before the show, with no troops deployed:

Adopting a "surf & turf" approach, firstly here are my photos of the ships from the set-up and show days. Everyone loved the ships! Matt had even kindly switched them all over to blue ensigns to be theatre accurate.

Moving over to the "turf" element here are photos of the battle as it developed through the day of the show:
